Gibbed SaveEdit is a utility for hacking or cheating by artificially upgrading or otherwise modifying a player character abilities, weapons and other game elements for the Borderlands 2 Game. With Gibbed SaveEdit you are able to open, modify, and save data in the player saved data files. It supports modifying PC, XBox360, and Sony Play Station 3 (PS3) data although the Gibbed SaveEdit software runs on a Microsoft Windows PC only.

Borderlands 2 Update
Today I show you how to recover lost saves in Borderlands 2 on steam! I hope this helps those that may need it. Especially if you have the time put in as I do. I recently deleted my borderlands 2 character save file so that i can access a previous save state. This in turn deleted the character entirely. However, when i check my xbox hard drive, it says that a backup save file is still present. If this is making any sense. Im just wondering if this backup save file can be loaded and played? Or do i have to a create a new character.
Backup all profile data for Borderlands 2 first.
1. On the PS3 running Rogero Custom Firmware launch Multiman with full FTP access enabled.
2. FTP download to the PC your Borderlands 2 savadata
The Borderlands 2 savedata folders look something like: BLUS30910-PROFILE and BLUS30910-SAVE-SAVE0001
- BLUS30910-PROFILE - contains all savedata for all games. The number part will be different for you.
- BLUS30910-SAVE-SAVE0001 - are game savedata. You only want the ones for Borderlands 2.
3. Use PARAM_SFO_Editor.exe to open PARAM.SFO file to determine which Borderlands 2 character it is.
4. To decrypt PS3 savedata before you can edit use a utility called Bruteforce Save Data or BSD for short. Open BSD and load the file that looks like BLUS30910-SAVE-SAVE0001 that is for the character you wish to modify.
5. In BSD right click on the icon for the character savedata and SETTINGS -> GLOBAL SETTINGS then change the profile number to match the one for your character. You will also need to enter your PS3 Console ID, a number that is unique to your PS3. Click the refresh button then click DECRYPT PFD. The button appears as one in a horizontal line of buttons that represent a process. You can skip right to decrypt by clicking that button. Leave BSD open.
6. Open and use the Gibbed Borderlands 2 SaveEdit program to select and open the now decrypted character save file. In the Open dialog box MAKE SURE YOU SELECT file type PS3 or you will get an error. It defaults to PC.
7. Make your modifications according to the guide on using Gibbed Borderlands 2 SaveEdit. Errors or changes outside of the allowable parameters will corrupt your player savedata. Save changes.
8. With Gibbed modifications complete go back to BSD (Alt-TAB) and Re-encrypt the file. Click Verify.
9. FTP upload the entire BLUS30910-SAVE-SAVE0001 folder of the character you modified. Overwrite.
If your player will not load because the game says it is corrupted, then restore from backup and try again. You made an invalid modification or you forgot a step in the process.

There is no difference for Borderlands Steam save location if you install Steam or your game on an external hard drive. Within the SaveData folder, there will be at least one folder with the name of your Steam ID number, profile.bin, Save0001.sav, and Save0001.sav.bak. the Steam ID folder contains your game save files; profile.bin is where your BAR settings, unlocked skins, golden keys and claptrap’s stash live; Save001.sav is your actual save file; while Save0001.sav.bak is the earlier version.

How To Backup Borderlands 2 Saves
Why Need to Find Borderlands Save Location?
The most common reason is to create a copy of the save files to prevent game progress loss if the original save data gets damaged or lost. Also, rely on the backup versions, you can return back to the previous game conditions for a new beginning. One more reason for finding Borderlands save file location is to transfer them between two different platforms.
How to Transfer Save Files Between Epic and Steam on PC?
Since cross-play is possible between Steam and Epic PC platforms for Borderlands 3, it is also feasible to transfer Borderlands save data from Epic to Steam or vice versa. Yet, you have to manually move the save files.
Borderlands 3 save file location on both platforms is “DocumentsMy GamesBorderlands 3SavedSaveGames” folder, but there is a unique identification label (a long string of numbers and letters) to distinguish files saved from Epic or Steam account.
When you first launch Borderlands on one platform (Epic or Steam), it will automatically create a unique folder associated with that platform. Then, just exist the game completely.
Does Borderlands 3 has cross save? If it does, how to cross-save? If it doesn’t, will Borderlands 3 have cross save? Find all answers here.
To transfer files from Borderlands Steam save location to Borderlands Epic save location, just copy all items from the source platform folder, and paste them into the destination platform folder. Those files include a profile.sav (tracking your Options preferences) and all numbered.sav files (representing your Vault Hunters). Then, when next time you start your game, all preferences and characters in both Epic and Steam version of Borderlands will show up.
However, the files transferring process will only update the locally saved files, for cloud existing savings, just refresh them to reflect the new files. If you transfer an Epic save files to your Steam account (Steam supports Borderlands 3 later than Epic), the save data won’t sync between these two platforms, and you won’t receive your STEAM achievements that you already have with that save files.
Some Steam achievements may still be acquired on the same character if you complete certain tasks. Yet, it is not sure that Steam will register those achievements consistently. All Steam achievements are available for any new characters you create on Steam.
